Masonry Load Bearing Buildings

Castcon Stone

Masonry construction is common in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.  A common application for precast stairs (in structures such as dormitories, assisted living facilities and office buildings) is to use precast stair systems in “Block and Plank” construction.

Castcon Value Added

Compared to concrete-filled steel pan stair systems in masonry load bearing construction, Castcon precast stairs can’t be beat for ease of erection, immediate accessibility, durability, and low maintenance.  Precast stairs will cost less, due to the gain in time from immediate accessibility by onsite trades. You’ll enjoy a reduced punch list, due to the product being dimensionally correct when it is shipped to site, and there is no need to fill in pans after the 2 x 4’s are taken out.  Forget about painting the stringers. No more paint splinter or rust. Precast comes to your site as a finished product, not half-done. We do the hard work at our plant, so it doesn’t have to be done onsite.

Separate Stairs & Landings
These are often referred to as “stretchers” and contain the riser/tread run. The landings include the intermediate as well as the floor level. This design requires “side wall” support of the landings. The stairs will span from landing to landing.
