Laura Huch Kerckhoff

President

The daughter of Castcon co-founder Carl W. Huch, Jr., Laura began her professional life at Castcon in 1981 and learned every facet of the company before becoming President in 1993. In addition to setting the goals and vision for the company, Laura’s hands-on style and attention to detail make her an invaluable contributor to the company’s Marketing, Sales, Estimating and Engineering efforts. Her emphasis on customer service and focus on raising Castcon’s profile in both existing and emerging markets has been instrumental in the company’s continuing success.

Laura is currently a voting member of the PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Industry) Sustainability Committee, a past National president and board member of the Architectural Precast Association and an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Precast Association. She is also past president and board member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

Since 1999, Laura has been a guest lecturer at Carnegie-Mellon University’s School of Architecture. Each year, under her direction, Castcon sponsors a concrete design competition at CMU in conjunction with the lectures on concrete.

Laura attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, attained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the Entrepreneurial Fellows Program at Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Sandra Ussia

Vice President

The daughter of Castcon co-founder Carl W. Huch, Jr., Sandy began her career with Castcon in 1990 as a bookkeeper and went on to serve as the company’s Information Systems Manager and Controller. She was named Vice President in 2000. In this role, she carries on the proud tradition of her family’s business and has been instrumental in guiding the company into the 21st century. Sandy currently oversees the financial and information technology functions.

Sandy is active with various PowerLink Advisory Panels and she is currently a board member of the Victory Road Business Park Association.

Sandy attended Clarion State College, attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and German from Youngstown State University and acquired her MS in Computer Information Systems from Robert Morris College.
